About

To secure your spot at the university or to get started in your career, you want to tailor your application to an organization's mission. We can help you develop your written materials so that your expertise stands out.

With an increasingly competitive job market, it is crucial that our work reflects a unique point of view. In addition to technical expertise, organizations are interested in the unique perspective that an applicant can contribute. Most people who apply to medical school, for instance, have good grades, volunteer experience, and an interest in science. How do we stand out, then? A good application takes these common details and tells a story that is more powerful than the bulletpoints on a resume.

The narrative aspect of an application is especially important, because in a digital society, our first impression is most likely a written one. It is therefore imperative that we can offer not only a firm handshake, but a thoughtful essay, email, or piece of research that reflects a point of view. At Cool Cat Drafts, we help you develop that story so that your individual perspective shines.

As university instructors, our approach is to guide you through the writing process; not only will you come away with a polished final draft, but you will also be equipped with strategies to tackle future writing tasks. We have helped many students get accepted into their graduate and professional schools of choice, including programs in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, as well as medical and law schools. We work with applicants on required essay questions as well as research statements, personal statements, and extracurricular activities. We edit doctoral dissertations and academic articles, working especially with non-native English speakers from around the world. We can also help with scholarship applications, letters of interest, and other academic and professional materials.

Even if you don't know exactly where you want to land, our coaching program can help you figure out where you want to be and how to get there.
